Being unemployed can be a difficult time for anyone. It can cause you to feel alone, alienated and even depressed. It can impact relationships with those around you like family members and friends.

JoblessJoe is about creating a positive and supportive community for people who are out of work. It enables the unemployed community to connect and keep busy in a positive and productive way and to keep up a network with those in a similar situation.

Unemployed Resources: Coping with unemployment is challenging. JoblessJoe provides a variety of resources on how to deal with being unemployed. This ranges from managing your time to what to do if you don't have health insurance.

Community Support: Community support means connecting with those in a similar situation. While you may feel alone, there are more than 12 million unemployed people in the U.S. Our community is about learning from other unemployed members (how to cope with unemployment, maintaining physical/mental health) and then sharing your own experiences (much of this comes through our discussions)

Job Finding Resources: JoblessJoe is not Monster.com and is not for finding a job. It’s about learning how to find a job in this environment. JoblessJoe provides various resources around Resume Writing, Job Searching, info on Who’s Hiring and more… It even works with various recruiting and staffing organizations to assist our members.

Money Saving: When you are unemployed, managing your budget is critical. JoblessJoe provides resources, tips, and tricks to help you control spending while you are out of work.

JoblessJoe is about focusing on the positive and providing guidance, resources, support and motivation to anyone who is out of work. It’s about using this time as an opportunity to make your life better.

JoblessJoe is for anyone who is unemployed and has access to a computer with Internet access. It’s for men and women, skilled laborers, service industry workers, recent colleges grads who need to find a job, and anyone else who is currently seeking employment.

Do I have to be unemployed to use JoblessJoe?

No. JoblessJoe is a community for the unemployed. But it's also a great resource if you feel your job (or stream of work) is in jeopardy. It pays to be prepared when there is uncertainly. So gain some confidence and a strategy ahead of being out of work. JoblessJoe is also for people who have been unemployed and are willing to share their advise/wisdom with others. And of course JoblessJoe is for recruiters and career advisers to lend their perspective on hiring and where the jobs are.

Where is JoblessJoe targeted?

Currently, JoblessJoe is targeted at a national audience. We try to answer questions and identify solutions for problems that are faced by unemployed persons regardless of location. In the future, the site will most likely break down into more localized content.
