Story:
Hours at work have been cut, business is slow. I'm am still okay financially, but there is still looming debt, and I can only foresee economic conditions getting worse...before they can possibly get better. A passion has been sparked in me since spring of '09, and I have dived into Austrian Economic Theory. This school of thought promotes free markets, sound money, and several libertarian ideas like limited government and balanced budgets. So why am I here?
I was actually going to develop a site similar to this because during my research, I've found that the ACTUAL unemployment rate is about twice as much as the "official" rate. I wanted to bring people together to help and come up with ways to save that extra buck, and connect with others with similar hardships. Though I may not be unemployed, I see that people are struggling, and I want to inform everyone about how our current economic situation is doing more bad than good. Educating the people is the only way to stop the bleeding.
I'm trying to start a business in buying gold. I want to purchase old and/or broken chains, bracelets, rings, pair less earrings, money clips, or anything you don't wear. I'm literally just starting up and hope you all take a look at the information I'm giving in the forums, reading the articles I post and look into Austrian Economics. This school of thought has predicted this, along with previous world events. It's important that we learn from the past, because the mistakes we make now are mistakes we've made before. It may be too late, but we need to get on the right track soon.
My business is really just a hobby for now, until it takes off I'm staying ahead of my bills and mortgage payments, and looking to save a few bucks. I'm into urban gardening, but I don't have a garden just yet. I'm still researching what is and isn't doable in my climate.
