Well pretty much the same here in South Florida, construction jobs are back in swing. Overall though the hospitality industry is still pretty much a dead case on Miami Beach. There basically is no jobs here on Miami Beach, but jobs in downtown Miami and the surrounding areas.
I just heard some bad news yesterday when I was checking on a civil case I have pending against my former employer, that the State of Florida is awaiting th egovernor to sign SB2108, a house bill that will cut the overall court staff throughout the state, with the courts already over worked due to the massive foreclosures, the State plans to cut court house staff in half or less then half.
Construction is beginning to pick up in the Northeast again, both homes and highways. That will also help all the supplier industries as well.
These guys are actually hiring... Supposed to add several hundred to their headcount in the next year.
I've been looking for a job for quite sometime. I was going to businesses and filling out applications and even using the old school method of browsing through the want ads in the back of the paper. My sister actually told me about an executive firm that she used to find a job and I'm going to give it a try!
