It can be a downer reading all the headlines about unemployment topping 10%.
Especially for those who have been out of work for some time. I came across
this article about some companies that are hiring right now. Even if these
companies are not in your town, they may help shed some light on what
industries are in need of people and what kind of skills they are looking
for.

The job market has been bleak for some time. More people are looking for jobs now than jobs seem to exist – and the jobless and unemployment rate are the worst in almost 30 years. Fewer people can qualify these days for a payday loan, never mind get the kind of job that will live up to their former salaries. The unemployment rate doesn't include the underemployed, or those that are working, but are only part time or temps - but rest assured, most of the experts have signed off that the unemployment rate will reduce by the end of 2010.
